About Me
Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
This part is about me as a person.
Hi, I’m Michael Mosiman—or just “Mosi”
I am unsure how many people will actually read the “About” page and it makes me want to write outlandish things to be appreciated by the few who do read it. I digress.
Me and racing and stuff.
In preschool people teased me by calling me "Michael Michael Motorcycle”. I hated it. I don’t know how old preschoolers are but some two decades later I still am trying to see how fast I can ride my motorcycle. When I was young I decided I was going to do everything in my power to become a top quality professional motocross racer. At thirteen years old I started working out and I choose to cut out all sweets. No cake for my birthdays. No apple pie at Thanksgiving. No sodas, no ice cream, nothing. After the end of the racing season each year I would go full sweets for two weeks. I was like a crack addict for two weeks a year. Then cold turkey for another year.
Today I am living my childhood dream and continue to eagerly seek to improve myself daily. I have had some success and won some races in my career but I don’t believe I’ve reached my potential yet. So the journey continues.
Me and faith and stuff.
I am unashamedly a Christian. The week before I got my drivers license I decided to get baptized in the creek at Loretta Lynns. A few years prior my older brother and Dad were baptized and my Mom heavily tried to convince me as well but I was not going to be pressured into it. Didn’t seem right. Six months after getting baptized I joined a Bible study. As we read through the gospel of John I was struck by the boldness and sharp words of Jesus. I was filled with questions and found satisfying answers. I looked forward to the Bible study each week and thoroughly enjoyed considering the deeper things of life. Who was Jesus? What does it mean to follow Him? Did He really rise from the dead? Will we still fart in heaven? (I think maybe, but they won’t smell bad).
When I was baptized I knew I wanted to be a Christian but when I actually read the Bible and considered it I discovered Jesus expected far more commitment than I had anticipated. So I did more research. I wanted to be sure I wasn’t committing my life to the tooth fairy. It needed to be real.
I was shocked to find so much convincing evidence for Christianity. At this point even if I wanted it to not be real I could not deny it. Today my faith impacts every area of my life. It shapes my worldview and values. I am far from perfect and have made big mistakes but thankfully Jesus is in the business of forgiving and loving people like me.
Me and creativity and stuff.
I am considered unusual in the motocross industry. I’m like if a circus master was an accountant on the side. You’d be like, wait.. what? During Covid I taught myself how to play piano and now play in public anytime I get the chance, mostly airport pianos. I’m not amazing but I can make it sound nice. I also play some guitar but I’m not very good. This last year for Christmas I was trying to not blow the budget so I decided to paint a portrait of my wife and I based on a photo. I bit off way more than I could chew. I had never painted faces before and I chose far too large of a canvas. By Christmas I wasn’t fully finished—but I was pretty sure I could have a future art career.
I share this all because it is one of the ways I am unique. I believe my creativity isn’t abnormal, everyone is an artist when they are three. More than natural skill or inclination I think I just have the right amount of boldness, confidence, and curiosity to try things so far outside my normal skill set. In racing I try to go as fast as I can but in my hobbies I try to slow down. In both things I enjoy the process of learning new skills and getting better.
Segue to MOSI brand…
That’s where MOSI brand comes in, a new project where my racing, faith, and creativity collide!
This part is about the MOSI brand.
MOSI Brand? MOSI Merch? MOSI Co.? I’m not sure what to call it yet. Maybe just “MOSI”.
MOSI: quality products. Meaningful messages. That’s the foundation of everything I create.
At its simplest, MOSI is a project where I create things I like and find meaningful or cool (hopefully both) and share them with the world.
The plan is to start small and offer a limited amount of quality products. In racing, I’m very analytical and known for my attention to detail. I bring that same mindset to MOSI products—well, maybe not exactly the same—but always with real care and consideration. I don’t want to make cheap, soulless stuff. This isn’t Temu.
MOSI is definitely focused on apparel but is certainly not limited to it. I have aspirations to sell artwork and who knows what else. Maybe I’ll sell MOSI Brand ceiling fans just to throw people off.
If you’re still reading this, thank you. I genuinely appreciate your time and attention.
Be Part of the Journey
If you decide to grab something from MOSI Brand, know that I appreciate it more than you probably realize. Supporting the brand helps me keep creating things I enjoy and sharing parts of the journey along the way.
Thanks for being here.
